Monroe, George Clarence (b. 15 NOV 1885, d. 7 JAN 1974)
Note: Another source indicates he was born in Crane Creek, Ada County, Idaho. He was educated in Wheeling , West Virginia where he resided with his Uncle James Monroe, M.D. Later, he taught school in Ellensburg, Washington. He moved to Victoria, British Columbia in 1903. He then moved with his brother Adrian to Alberta to start cattle ranching. He came west to B.C. in 1914 and settled in Mountain View. He farmed there, raised sheep, trapped and made fence posts and telephone poles. He moved back to USA to have his children educated. He attended a seminary in Anderson, Indiana and held pastorates in Colorado and Michigan. He returned to his farm in McBride in 1930 where he was a United Church Minister.

Note: Excerpts from her obituary: She was born in a sod house in Ord, Nebraska and graduated from high school in Ord. While living in Nebraska, she worked in a munitions factory during WW 2.. She and Robert Bevier divorced in 1953. She owned and operated restaurants in Old Town, Florence, Oregon. Her interests included sewing, quilting, crafts, gardening, cooking and canning. Survivors include 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.
