Note: Although it is clear that the mother of Edwin Austin Bevier is Mary Jane Bevier, it is not clear about the father. His birth certificate lists his mother as Mary Jane Bevier, but does not list a father. On his marriage certificate, the named father of Edwin Austin Bevier is Dewain Bevier and his mother's maiden name is recorded as Mary Jones [possibly Jones was substituted for Jane]. An Eddie Bevier, aged 8 years, [presumably Edwin Austin] is listed as living with the William Elias Bevier family in the 1880 census in Woodland Township, Barry County, Michigan. There is no direct common ancestor of these two family groups!
Edwin and family were enumerated in 1900 as living in Lake City, Michigan. His occupation was barn boss of a livery stable. Edwin Austin Bevier and his family were enumerated in Davenport, Iowa during census of 1920. He was a machine operator and owned his house with no mortgage. In 1920, he lived with his family in Alhambra, California. He operated a pool hall. According to his death certificate from Riverside County, California, his occupation was fireman, his deceased mother's name was Mary Jane and he resided in Arlington, California. His death certificate names an Edward Bevier [with a?] as his father, but this is probably not a true statement. He died in the General Hospital in Riverside, California of an abdominal aortic aneurysm. He had a long history of arteriosclerosis. At the time of his death he lived at 5807 Victoria Avenue in Arlington, California.
