Note: In the1870 census he resided in Coldwater, Michigan and was a farmer. In 1900, he resided in St. Joseph County, Portage Twp., Indiana and was a laborer. He lived in South Bend, Indiana in 1909 and 1910 and was a woodworker in a sewing machine factory. Grandson Ralph Homer Bevier lived with them.

Note: He lived in Fremont, Indiana in 1880, 1900, and 1909. He kept a livery stable. The obit of Melissa Dygart Bevier indicates she was born Mar 24, 1858. The family resided in Fremont Township, Steuben County, Indiana in 1910, 1920, 1930. He was a rural mail carrier in those years.

Bevier, Edwin S. (b. 4 MAR 1852, d. 1922)
Note: U. S. Pension records from the Civil War state that his name was Edward. They also give his name as Edwin S. Bevier. He is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Rockwood, Michigan, along with his wife and four of their unmarried children. The tombstone gives his name as Edwin. In 1880, he lived with his mother in Ash, Monroe County, Michigan. His tombstone name is Edwin S. Bevier 1850-1922. Another source indicates his middle name was Spencer.
