Stillings, Marie Marguerite (b. 4 FEB 1896, d. 3 APR 1997)
Note: She did not marry. She graduated from Mannington High School in 1914, then went to Fairmont Normal School to prepare for a teaching career. She taught grade school in Copley, Ida May, and Morgantown, West Virginia. Marie decided to obtain an undergraduate degree and went to U. of Chicago where she majored in art.
In 1931, she graduated and accepted a teaching post in Hempstead, Long Island. She stayed in that school system for 32 years as grade school teacher and art supervisor. She retied in 1962. Subsequently, she lived near or with various relatives in Sun City, California, New Port Richey, Florida, East Brunswick, New Jersey, and finally Thousand Oaks, California. She lived to be 101 years old, a Stillings family record!
