Bevier, Frank (Francis) Elmon (b. 4 APR 1896, d. 5 NOV 1975)
Note: Some confusion as to his first name. His WW 1 draft registration completed in Detroit, Michigan states his name as Frank Bevier He may have been born Francis Elmon Bevier, but on his Social Security application in August 1941, he stated his name as Frank Elmon Bevier He was a sergeant in the Marine Corps during WW I. He obtained the second Ohio liquor license issued in Cincinnati in 1933 and opened the Tip-Top Cafe at Loth and St. Joe Streets. He moved the business in 1936 to E. McMillan St. and opened the first Tally-Ho restaurant. He moved again in 1947 and opened the present Tally-Ho Cafe. He operated both until 1960, when he sold it. Mr. Bevier continued to operate the Pony Keg until he sold it to his nephew and retired in 1967. The cafe was a popular gathering place for college students who called Mr, Bevier "Uncle Frank."
During the census of 1930, he is listed as a real estate salesman with his own business. His wife is listed as Ella. The family genealogist doesn't know why there is an Ella listed as his wife.
